Monday. It’s kind of rainy and cold today. But the dripping leaves and blossoms on the flowers on our back deck were beautiful!
Yes, it is a gloomy day so I check in with the baby falcons at UB. I have watched them on a daily basis since they hatched. Their mom takes such good care of them–feeds them regularly, covered them up with her wings when it is cold, disciplines them when they start fighting and stands vigil on a branch that runs off the nest when she isn’t busy with her other chores. God does such a magnificant job of creating all of His creatures.
Here’s an excellent quote from Henry Beston, giving a perspective on animals in nature. (I’ve added a picture of our daughter Deidre, looking with awe at a caterpillar whom she named “Lisa”:

Speaking of animals…I am fascinated as I watch our new puppy, seven months old, and our older dog, 15 years, relate. They have a communication system that is all their own. I also find it amazing how the older dog has accepted the pup into our home and even seems to enjoy him. The older dog has also become much stronger now that he’s getting exercise playing with the pup. Goes to show you that we need to keep moving in old age. Anyway, I see it all as God’s incredible handiwork.
SHARE YOUR FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE. During Contemporary Worship (9:00 a.m.) on Sunday, September 16 we’ll be talking about which Bible verses have been particularly meaningful for people during their lives and, if willing, to tell us why the verse(s) is important. Contributors don’t need to be 9:00 am worshippers or even a members of Nativity to submit a verse(s); everyone’s invited to participate! So, what’s your favorite verse and why?
